看看，视频演示里的内容很难说是传统的“书”，文字只是“一部分”，图片，声音，动画，交互内容和“智能”内容很多，传统书籍充分利用了“纸”，新书则充分利用了 iPad 的新硬件，加速度传感器，触摸屏，GPS 等等，没有哪个不如此：幼儿读物，Vampire Academy, The Human Body，Travel 系列，Star Finder… Vampire Academy 系列不光有社区，还能让读者实时聊天；Travel 丛书可以根据 GPS 得到当前位置自动显示更新地图，Star Finder 让天文白痴举手之劳就认得星座 —- 真的是一“举手”就可以哟。没错，Penguin 展示的不是 book，不是寂寞，是 app
Makinson 对 FT 金融时报 说，The psychology of payment on tablets is different to the psychology on a PC， 平板上的掏钱心理学和电脑上是不一样的。他们认为 iPad 是个真正的机会。目前 Penguin 在美国业务中 4% 是 ebook，Makinson 预计明年 10%。他们会积极地创建嵌入了音频视频流媒体和游戏的产品，全部作为 app，而不仅是 ebook （ebook 这个概念和背后的技术太不雄心壮志了）。
